Every year 8 million tonnes of plastic enters our oceans and marine life is declining because of it. A.M.A. (Animated Marine Animals) is in interactive toy that teaches children about the extensive decline in New Zealand marine biodiversity.
The A.M.A. toy is completely made up of ocean plastics that have been grinded down and repurposed into 3D printing filament. By using ocean plastics we are able to minimize the amount of plastics that may harm our marine life and reuse it to educate future generations about the life threatening material that harms our marine animals.
A.M.A. revolutionises sandcastle and sculpture making by adding AR (augmented reality) to the 3D printed toy. This setting essentially connects a new generation of technology fueled children to experience the outdoors and learn about our native marine life.
